Problem Statement

• Failing inspection reports were submitted by a supplier as part of the PPAP documentation
• The supplier thought this was acceptable since the weld fixture was inherited from the customer
  

Solution

• Worked with the supplier to get tooling adjusted, so parts were producted to print specifications
  • Worked with supplier to help them better understand PPAP requirements & purpose
  • Worked with supplier to show them how the weld fixture was designed to be adjusted in certain areas
  • Supplier made appropriate adjustments to fixture & recorded new measurements
  • Worked with supplier to continue making changes to the fixture until all dimensions were to print for parts coming off of the fixture

Results

• Future product was to print
• Passing inspection reports were submitted to the customer
