Dell Innovation Services was asked to identify a list of cost savings areas for our customer’s newly released high performance truck.

  • Our customer wanted to detect anywhere within the design and manufacturing that might represent a cost savings.

The Solution

high performance truckIn a time span of eight weeks, Dell interrogated a current production truck, reviewed an initial list of 50+ items with our customer’s engineers and presented a formal proposal for items having potential cost savings.

  • A one year payback for capital expenditures was stipulated.
  • Our customer approved 14 of the original 50 items for further Dell activity.
  • Dell delivered renderings, solid models and rapid prototyping within two weeks of the requested start date.

The Results
